The Story Behind 'Shatter'

Track 1. Again

Starting off the EP with Again, Jackie sets the tone with a fun flirty uptempo about her desire to love and be loved even if it were to end in chaos. Written by: Jackie Romeo, Sean Thomas.

Track 2. Shatter

As the tittle track of the EP, Shatter is a soul stirring ballad with lyrics about a relationship on the rocks that will pull at your heartstrings. It is especially near and dear to Jackie’s heart because it was co-written by her fellow ‘The Voice’ Alum and close friend Bri Fletcher. Written by: Bri Fletcher, Anna Kline, Elysse Yulo

Track 3. Pretty Girls

Pretty Girls is the first song Jackie ever released and it was written by her music mentor Debbie Gibson specifically for her. It is a touching song about comparison and the desire to fit in that causes so many of us to doubt our own self worth, but ultimately realizing that everyone has their own struggles regardless of what they look like. Track 4. Day by Day

Day by Day is a midtempo song that switches the vibe to a fun and carefree mindset about moving on from a relationship that doesn’t suit you. Written by Jackie Romeo, Terry Derkach

Track 5. What Makes A Man

What Makes A Man is a deeply personal song about Jackie’s relationship with her father. For anyone who may have experienced a one-sided relationship with their family members, it is a reminder that there are still good people out there in the world just waiting to meet you. Track 6. The Story

Jackie's Acoustic Version of The Story was originally performed by her songwriting hero Brandi Carlile and is the last song she ever performed as a Top 20 contestant on ‘The Voice.’ This is the only song on the EP to also have its own music video. Track 7. Anyway

Closing out the EP is power anthem Anyway with electrifying bass, positive storytelling, and a bridge so uplifting, it will be sure to get you up on your feet.
